Epps Evans looks like a bitmap drawn up on a 5 x 5 grid. It is a severely geometric unicase typeface, modelled on the first OCR experimental typeface drawn up at the National Physical Laboratory in the 1960s, and named after the researchers there. Stylistically related to the work of Dutch designer Wim Crouwel, it is available in only one style, has no curves and (as with Bodoni 26) doubles up the design between lower and uppercase. Marty Pfeiffer is a Washington State University graphic design graduate who put six versions (light, regular, black, narrow, round and text) of Epps Evans on his website for free download.
