A typeface designed to provoke reaction, Dead History marks a practical and conceptual high point of the American-led deconstructionist movement in typography. Available in roman and bold weights only, this font was created by cutting and pasting together parts of two existing but very dissimilar digital typefaces; Linotype Centennial and Adobe VAG Rounded (the VAG initials indicate that at one time this type had been the house typeface of Volkswagen). Although Emigré licensed and released the font in 1994, P. Scott Makela had 'remixed' the letterforms so extensively that Zuzanna Licko had to redraw and complete the entire font from scratch. | |  |
